Nepal Integrated Blind Development Association (NIBDA) is a non governmental Organisation of blind. It was established to improve living standards of persons with visually impaired by proving opportunities and participation in different integrated programmes.
NIBDA is dedicated to ensure the rights of visually impaired persons "right to sight". It was registered with District Administration office, Kathmandu. Its registration no is 288/1995/95 and it also affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC).
There were no organisations of blinds before 1986. Laboratory school was only the place for education. After graduation from the school there were no opportunities to interact. Few members realised it and established Nepal Association welfare of Blinds(NAWB).NAWB was working in a non formal way due to unfavourable situation in the country. This was not enough to cover large blind population. Binod Sharma, currently President in NIBDA led the team to establish NIBDA. Since its mission, this group of people have been contributing in NIBDA Nepal.
